It’s In Your Hands Now

As you all must know, Life as a Police Mom is now out in the world! It has proven to be an exciting eight weeks since publication, to say the least. Thanks to so many of you, the book soared to #2 on Amazon within days of being released, with over 1,000 copies sold in just the first two weeks.

Whereas sales figures have been exciting, what those numbers mean to me is that I was right in believing the book was something police moms all over the country needed and were waiting for. That’s why I wrote it. YOU are why I wrote it. The feedback I’ve received from my Blue Sisters has touched me deeply. Your words of appreciation will stay in my heart forever. Thank you so very much. You have given me the gift of validation, the gift of acceptance, and the gift of your love and support. And isn’t that what we come together for, after all? Support. What a beautiful thing that is.

Now I have three requests – okay, four.

If you have not read the book, please do. It’s the kind of book that you will, I hope, find interesting and informative, maybe even entertaining, at first read. But it may also prove to be a lifeline on some difficult day down the road. Keep it nearby for those days and let it remind you that you are never alone.

If you have read the book and found it helpful or comforting, please tell others about it. Help our Blue Sisters find the book by telling your friends, sharing a link on Facebook, and writing a review on the book’s page on Amazon.com. When a book has new reviews posted on Amazon, it will appear higher on the list of matched books in response to a shopper’s search, so when a new mom types in “books for police moms,” she is more likely to find it. You can help that nervous new police mom locate the book that may be the answer she needs.

I would like to see Life as a Police Mom be made available to the mothers of officers and new recruits everywhere. To help make that happen, I have created a program for law enforcement agencies to purchase books at a deep discount to be given free of charge or at their cost to their officers. These orders must be placed with me directly and I will have them shipped directly to the department. If you would like to present this offer to your local department, I can provide you with a letter to the Chief and other materials that explain the process. I also can send you flyers to share with other officers and/or their moms telling them about the book. Just shoot me a message requesting any of these materials to help spread the word and make the book available to your local department. Use my personal email address at [email protected] to request these materials.

Finally, tell me what you’d like to hear from me. Is there something I wrote in the book that you want to talk about? Something you’d like to learn more about? Is there something that was not in the book that you’d like me to write about? I truly care about your thoughts and concerns and want to know how I can continue to help you learn and gain comfort and confidence in this unique role we share. Send me your thoughts. Email your questions, ideas, and requests for information to [email protected].

This wonderful group of LEO moms—you inspire me! As promised in the book, I’m here for you!
